Youth Counselling

Many young people experience conflicts and struggles in their interpersonal relationships within their family, school and social environments.  It is important that young people have someone to talk to about these issues and are enabled to develop skills to help them effectively cope with the challenges they face in their lives.

Within New Life Counselling the youth team is committed to providing a safe, non judgemental, confidential space for young people between the ages of 11 – 25 years to think, talk and make sense of their experiences in a supportive environment.  Through a variety of therapeutic approaches young people are empowered to develop attitudes and skills that enhance their personal development and their interpersonal relationships.

New Life Counselling offers both individual and group work, both at our office and within a number of local schools and agencies.  Our work often involves supporting young people with suicidal thoughts and previous attempts, self harming behaviours, drug and alcohol abuse, difficulties in relating to others, depression, anxiety, bullying and personal development issues.  New Life Counselling works in partnership with statutory and other agencies to ensure the individual needs of the young person are best met.

We offer a youth friendly accessible service.

Independent Counselling Service For Schools

New Life Counselling offers counselling in over 180 post primary schools throughout Northern Ireland in partnership with the Department of Education.  This is available to any pupil who wishes to use this service.  Pupils can refer themselves by completing a form and posting it in the internal mail box placed in each school or by completing our online referral form on this website.  They can also be referred by teachers or parents through an appointed teacher from the pastoral care team in the school.
