Counselling for ChildrenNew Life Counselling provides counselling support for children between the ages of 5-11 years old and their parents / carers. We can provide support to teachers and other professionals and deliver training to these groups. Counselling for young children often takes the form of creative thepies - allowing children to share their problems through art, drama or music. We provide group work within community and school settings on issues such as bullying, self esteem and anger management. Our team can provide support on a wide range of presenting issues including bullying, bereavement, suicidal feelings, confidence issues, abuse and self harm. Counselling for Young PeopleNew Life Counselling offers counselling support to young people aged between 12 and 25. Young People are offered direct support on a one to one basis or in a group work situation. We can help with issues such as depression, suicidal feelings, self harm, drug and alcohol misuse, lack of self confidence and isolation issues. The benefits of counselling support can include improved confidence, better relationships with family and friends and finding new ways of coping with difficult issues and feelings. Counselling for AdultsNew Life Counselling offers support to clients aged over 25 years. There is no upper limit to the age range. We offer counselling to individuals and couples as well as short and long term groups. Services are provided by qualified and experienced staff who work with a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, alcohol/drug misuse, abuse, bereavement and relationship problems. We also offer counselling support on an individual and group basis to older people who often experience social isolation, loss, bereavement, health issues and financial hardship. Counselling for FamiliesFamily Therapy helps people in close relationship help each other. It enables family members to explore difficult thoughts and feelings safely, to understand each other’s experiences and views, build on family strengths and make useful changes in their lives. Areas where family therapy may be particularly helpful include: - Family relationships and changes in family life - Parenting issues - Supporting family members through separation, mediation and divorce - Child and adolescent behaviour, including problems with attention and over-activity - Emotional disorders including anxiety, depression and grief following bereavement - Drug and alcohol misuse - Supporting families affected by trauma Different cultures and different groups of individuals have very different notions of what 'family' means. New Life Counselling take 'family' to mean any group of people who care about and for each other. Counselling for SchoolsNew Life Counselling offers counselling in over 180 post primary schools throughout Northern Ireland in partnership with the Department of Education. This is available to any pupil who wishes to use this service. Pupils can refer themselves by completing a form and posting it in the internal mail box placed in each school. They can also be referred by teachers or parents through an appointed teacher from the pastoral care team in the school. We continue to be able to offer counselling in primary schools and have been appointed by the BELB and SEELB to provide counselling support to schools in these areas. Training and Services to BusinessAs well as delivering counselling and therapeutic support to clients New Life Counselling also offer tailor made training for businesses, schools or organisations. We can provide bespoke and cost effective Employee Assistance Programmes. These can be suited to the individual needs of each organisation to ensure maximum benefit to the organisation and its’ employees.
